About Gareth Morgan and Sue Christie ....
As a most inspiring and talented chef, Gareth Morgan has become widely known for his uncompromising commitment to the imaginative use of fresh seasonal produce.
During an accomplished career, Gareth has had the privilege of working alongside a number of Michelin starred chefs, while Sue his partner is herself a most experienced restauranteur. Working together they bring a wonderful blend of creativity, vibrance and affability to every occasion. Four years ago they moved with their young family from Ludlow in Shropshire, to pursue their exhaustive passion for creating new and eloquent dishes composed from the very finest, ever changing ingredients, displayed daily throughout the length and breadth of Europe - yet their particular affections lay with the never ending delights in the South West corner of France.
Taking influences from the Spanish and Mediterranean regions around the province of Languedoc, they’re now happily settled into a simple country life amongst the gently rolling hills of the Sud Charente, where the inspiration for Gareth’s creativity comes from the well stocked country markets and the sweet smelling meadow grass on which the veal calves and spring lamb quietly graze.
Gareth and Sue have made ‘Bagatelle’, in the quiet medieval village of Montignac Le Coq, their family home from where they offer guests a friendly and relaxed, informal atmosphere in which to enjoy Gareth’s imaginatively composed fusion of sensational flavours.
